The People
, video, 2010

‘The People’ is an attempt to reformulate the soundtrack and film thought itself.
In it, I filmed 50 people listening to a poem of the same name by WB Yeats on an iPod on a City of London street. The poem is a remembered conversation between the narrator/poet and their phoenix who cautions against growing cynical about people. Soundtrack elements can be individually selected to include the one, two or ten listeners with a different voiceover, street music and choice of ambience. It is available at half resolution on the internet. And will be very soon available at full HD resolution exhibition formats: single kiosk with large monitor with headphones, and constant data-projection in its own space.
